Course details
This programme is designed to increase the skill profile of professional construction personnel in commercial IT skills. The programme assists in developing a core learning skill in IT to facilitate students re-entering education. The programme also provides an opportunity to facilitate the Continuing Professional Development of existing business professionals.
Entry Requirement
Minimum requirements will normally be a pass in six Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics or an equivalent qualification. Applicants who do not meet these requirements but who are aged 23 and over will be considered for entry on the basis of a written assessment and, if appropriate, also an interview. Equivalence may be demonstrated by an appropriate qualification and significant relevant experience.
Examinations
No examinations. Ongoing assessment will take place during the programme.

- IT Strategy – IT in construction, strategic management, e business, fragmentation, collaboration, standards
- MS Excel – introduction, formatting cells, formulae and operators, spread sheet applications, graphing tools, pivot tables, industry use.
- IT packages in Construction – Automated measure, Microsoft packages, BIM
