Dr Wong Nyuk Hien is an associate professor in the Department of Building, National University of
Singapore. Currently he is the Deputy Head (Research) in the department. He holds a PhD from Carnegie
Mellon University, USA. His teaching and research activities cover a wide spectrum of work in computational
air flow modelling, simulation modelling for higher building performance, total building performance and
system integration, indoor air quality, collaborative design using high speed network and development
of web based performance simulation models. Dr. Wong published more than 200 international referred
journal and conference papers in these related fields.
Mr Yong Ping Quen is a Senior Engineer in LEED AP Building Systems & Diagnostics Pte Ltd and holds
a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Building Science from NUS. His
academic excellence saw him being awarded with a GOLD Medal for his post graduate course. He has
more than 5 years of experience in semiconductor facilities management. He also served as a senior
development officer with the Technology Development Division of BCA before joining BSD as senior
engineer, handling energy simulation project and green mark consultancy work. Some of his projects
include Somerset Central Development, Tampines Grande Office Development etc.
