Introduction
This course is designed to equip both school leavers and mature applicants with necessary business skills and a thorough knowledge of the computer application packages used in the modern office, as well as preparing learners for further study in related areas. It also suits learners who wish to defer their college place for a year and acquire good IT skills to assist them in their future studies.
Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate with 5 passes or Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent. For mature students applications may be considered based on a proven interest in administration/business. Entry may be subject to interview.

Course Structure
Gain a comprehensive understanding of application software including Spreadsheets, Word Processing and Databases. Learn the principles of Bookkeeping and related software and study the concepts of Business Administration and Customer Relations.
Career Options | Progression
The holder of a QQI Level 5 Certificate in Business Administration may progress to a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in IT & Business Management, to further study at Institutes of Technology/Universities or to employment in office administration, customer relations, bookkeeping, IT or related business areas.
This course is run with support from the FIT Job Seekers programme. They provide guidance and information on CV development, interview skills, work placement visits and LinkedIn profiles. After your completion of the Level 5 Business Administration course, FIT will provide three years of support in CV preparation and interview skills.
