Dive into 19th Century Millinery techniques and create a hat using Millinery Wire and fabrics of your choice. The hat can be of a vintage design or very modern. It can be large or small eg; an elaborate hat worn by the grand ladies of the 19th Centuries or a simple and small Whimsy worn in the 50’s

This course will give you advanced wiring skills and the ability to create hats of theatrical proportions.

• You will learn to make a wire frame for a head piece or a hat and proceed to cover with either fabric or fine braid .
• You will learn about lace and different stiffening methods, wiring and attaching to your frame.
• You will also learn about veiling and various ways of fitting pieces to the head ( very important!)
