Course details
The aim of this course is to educate the participants on the basic principles of remote sensing, data sets and image processing techniques. The focus will be on environmental applications of remote sensing technology. The course will be beneficial to novice and mid-level users of the technology.
Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Concepts of remote sensing
- Different types of data sensors
- Performing data searches, scheduling and ordering
- Performing image rectification and geocoding
- Image processing techniques
- Data extraction

Agriculture scientists, geographers, engineers, soil scientists, agronomists, resource managers, environmentalists, irrigation engineers, and computer professionals.
Pre-requisites
- Minimum B.Sc. Degree in any physical sciences or engineering
- Familiarity with computer systems
