Basic Tractor

Course details

Course participants will learn the following skills:

• Legal aspects relating to tractor use: Legal obligations relating to driving on public highways
• Familiarisation with machine controls
• Tractor driving and handling, mounting and dismounting, starting procedures, stopping and safe parking, clutch control, driving techniques (forward and reverse), use of side brakes and differential locks in difficult and varying driving conditions, PPE, helmet and STC boots
• Maintenance - workshop, pre-start checks, daily maintenance, warning lights, buzzers and other safety features. Oil, water and fuel levels, lights, tyres and engine stop control, pedal operation
