Course details
Objectives:
Minimally-Invasive Surgery (MIS) has expanded from its niche area to join the mainstream of most surgical specialties. In fact, MIS procedures have become the preferred choices in gallbladder, colorectal and bariatric surgery; and indeed MIS is even making inroads into traditional bastions of open surgery such as transplant, cardiac and orthopaedic surgery.
Surgical training in the 21st century would be incomplete without formal teaching and structured guidance in the technique of MIS procedures. This workshop will allow participants to practice and enhance their laparoscopic skills.
Participants will be given access to the Surgical Simulation Centre to further practice and hone their skills after the workshop.
Target Audience:
House Offices, Medical Officers, R1/R2 residents in General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Cardiothoracic and Surgery-In-General & Surgical Specialties (Urology) programs
