To familiarize participants with the basic requirements of the Singapore Standard SS600 and general knowledge of bunkering services in Singapore.
Course Outline
- Overview of the bunkering services in Singapore and the Singapore Standard SS600
- Pre-delivery checks and documentation in a bunkering operation
- Delivery procedure and documentation whilst bunkering is in progress
- Post-delivery checks and documentation
- Requirements for bunker tankers
- Workshop: Exercises on the calculation of bunker quantity delivered
- Resolution of disputes
Course Methodology
Apart from lectures, the course will be highly interactive and based on practical and intellectual experiences. It will involve group discussions, video presentations and question-and-answer sessions. The course will only be conducted in English.

Bunker suppliers, bunker clerks/cargo officers, bunker craft operators, supervisors, management trainees, executives, bunker traders and brokers, bunker surveyors and shipping agents.

About Singapore Shipping Association
The SSA started to offer courses to shore-based shipping companies as far back as 1989. Twelve long and short part time vocational courses are currently conducted by full time professionals from the shipping industry. The courses are very well supported by the shipping companies. The Association, through its Executive Development Programme, aims to upgrade the high level of service and professionalism of shipping staff to enhance Singapore's competitiveness as an International Maritime Centre.
