Course details
This proposed two day module will solely focus on changes between Basel II and Basel III and will only cover new concepts introduced in Basel III like introduction of Capital Buffers, Liquidity Coverage Ratio, Net Stable Funding Ratio, Leverage ratio etc, which were not there in Basel II. Day two will be devoted primarily to case study or live example of calculating capital requirement under Basel III for a financial institution.

On successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the rationale for introduction of Basel III
- Recognize the major changes between Basel II and Basel III
- List new concepts introduced by Basel III
- Measure the capital requirement for credit, market and operational risks
- Illustrate how Basel III regulations strengthen the global capital framework

The course targets banking professionals who have personally been involved in performing accounting work or are already familiar with the concepts behind capital adequacy requirement.
