Course details

Negotiation is a key skill that when mastered, can enhance communication skills and provide better results from strong communication especially in the world of banking where successful negotiation translates directly into successful business relationships. This course will teach participants the benefits of successful negotiation, how to prepare to negotiate, ways to respond to negotiation challenges, how to create win-win customer banker solutions and how to create sustainable agreements.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the basic principles of negotiation
  • Explain the preparatory processes for negotiating a deal
  • Discuss how to build win-win situations in a negotiation and outline sustainable agreements
  • List techniques for becoming a more skilled negotiator
  • Interpret challenges in arriving at agreements into a viable negotiated agreement
  • Illustrate diagnostic instruments to construct suitable negotiation style
  • Defend the bank’s position in the consummation of a deal?
  • Support one’s position as a negotiator on the client’s and bank’s behalf
