Course details
This practical course will give students an excellent grounding in the key skills required by Graphic Designers. The Associate Certificate in Graphic Design has been specifically developed to teach participants the process of visually communicating ideas using varying image making techniques and software. Tutorials in the Adobe software applications are included in order to create and manipulate computer images and designs. This course is suitable for those with or without experience in the Desktop Publishing, Advertising, Web Development and Design industries.
Course Description
This course is focused on delivering a range of Graphic Design skills to an audience from beginner to intermediate Designers. Applicants require good basic computer skills, though no previous experience of Adobe products is required.
Course Content
The course includes the following modules:
- Typography
- Design Basics
- Colour Theory
- Idea Development
- Drawing and Image Making Skills
- Branding
- Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Assessment
This course is assessed through continuous assessment and project work.
Certification
The course is certified by the Dublin Institute of Design and QQI. On successful completion of this programme participants will receive a Dublin Institute of Design Associate Certificate in Graphic Design and QQI Level 5 Component Certificate in Graphic Design (5N1978)
