Course details
This is a portfolio preparation and general art course for students who wish to gain entry to a third level Art College in Ireland, the U.K. or abroad. The emphasis will be placed on the preparation of a balanced portfolio as well as developing skills in the art, craft and design areas. The portfolio, showing the student’s individual sense of design and pattern, can use a wide variety of the modules covered on the course as well as the student’s own interpretation of colour and design. Depending on the combination of modules a student can achieve a qualification in Art or Art, Craft and Design. There is now a FETAC Level 6 Certificate
available in this area.

- Option of Second year level 6
Certification:FETAC Level 5 in Art 5M1985.
Career Opportunities:
Graduates may pursue an art diploma or degree in NCAD, Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art and Design, DIT, Institutes of Technology and Art colleges or in many of the IT colleges around the country. Alternatively, a graduate may seek immediate employment in a range of art, design, animation, craft or community arts type projects. Many students progress to FETAC level 6, or Higher National Diploma and Degree programmes in Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design etc. There is a Level 6 course 6M4029 available in Dunboyne College.

- LCVP or LCA
- Mature Students of all backgrounds
- Other equivalent qualification
- All applicants will be interviewed regardless of previous qualifications
