Course details

This course will help participant gain knowledge on workplace safety and health (WSH) regulations which are important in the chemical industry. Participant will obtain the fundamental knowledge in identifying hazards and assessing risks while complying with WSH procedures at their workplace. On completion of this module, participant will gain the knowledge and application skills to apply workplace safety and health procedures and practices to ensure safety of oneself and others at work.

COURSE TOPICS

TOPIC 1

Identify the roles and responsibilities of an employee under the workplace safety and health act

TOPIC 2

Identify and prevent fire and explosion hazards at the workplace

TOPIC 3

Comply with safe work practices and control measures for material handling

TOPIC 4

Comply with safe work practices and control measures for mechanical and electrical works

TOPIC 5

Comply with safe work practices and control measures when working on specialized operations

TOPIC 6

Comply with safe work practices and control measures when working at heights

TOPIC 7

Comply with safe work practices and control measures when working in a confined space

PRE-REQUISITES

• English proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) level 2
• Numerical proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills System (ESS) level 2
• Be able to follow written and oral work instructions
• Know how to use basic PPE provided at workplace
• Basic knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE)

CERTIFICATION

A safety pass will be issued to each participant on successful completion of the course
