Application Module Implementation

Course details

This Universal Station-based course provides hands-on introduction to configuring Application Module (AM) points, Control Language (CL) programs, and Custom Data Segments and linking them together in supervisory control schemes. Control schemes are implemented on the AM using the Universal Station (US) as the user interface and the Data Entity Builder (DEB) as the configuration tool.

COURSE OBJECTIVES 

At the end of the course, participants will learn to Optimize Processes and Reduce Costs.

• Design and implement advanced process control strategies for greater optimization
• Implement control strategies that require inputs from more than one Universal Control Network (UCN), Data Hiway, or Total Plant Solution Network (TPN).

COURSE OUTLINE

Participants will learn to:

• Build and operate the following AM point types: Regulatory, Numeric, Flag, and Custom
• Create a custom control algorithm using AM Control Language
• Create an Indirect Reference Program using Custom Data Segments
• Create and use an AM Control Language Package and Custom Enumeration
• Allocate AM memory and configure optional, custom, and background AM functions in the Network Configuration File (NCF)
• Use optional External Load Modules to read from and write to text files, access HM continuous history and access higher level mathematical subroutines

Total Plant Solution Network (TPN) Customers:

• New to AM CL
• Requiring advanced supervisory control
• Looking to optimize operations

PRE-REQUISITES

Familiar with one of the following:

• Local Control Network / Universal Control Network Implementation (3300HPM, APM or PM) or
• Local Control Network /Hiway Implementation – (3300CB, EC, MC or AMC) Desirable Skills and/or Experience
• Basic programming skills
