About Adult Education Centre - Longford
We_They (VEC) is one of 33 such committees established under the VEC Act (1930) and the Amendment Acts of 1936, 1944, 1970 and 2001. The role of VECs is defined in section 9 of the VEC Amendment Act (2001) as that of providing a range of educational services, which are approved, financed and regulated by the Department of Education & Science. This remit includes the provision of post primary, second chance, adult and further education together with educational support services.
