The objective of the course is to understand application of relevant regulation and legislation to the underwriting function; Evaluate the influence of the underwriting strategy on an insurance company’s overall corporate strategy; design an underwriting policy and practices within the context of an insurance company’s underwriting strategy; apply appropriate pricing principles and methods to relevant functions of an insurance company; demonstrate the role of reinsurance in designing the underwriting policy of an insurance company; describe the management and evaluation of exposures such as risk aggregations and emerging risks within an insurance company’s underwriting portfolio; and apply operational controls and monitoring processes to the underwriting function
