Advanced Diploma in Visual Communications (Multimedia) First Media Design School

    Course details

    Students that elect to study multimedia will acquire life drawing skills and software rendering techniques for the development of cartoon characters and animated background.

    Apart from honing visual conceptualisation expertise to create 2D and 3D animation for the various multimedia platforms – including internet, digital, television and movies – the curriculum also equips the students with ideas generation abilities for the development of stories.

    4. Module 4: Animation, Film and Multimedia Interfaces
      • Animation and Multimedia Interfaces
      • Short Film Production
      • Sound for Screen and Multimedia
    5. Module 5: 3D Modeling and Animation for Designers
      • 3D Modeling Concepts and Visualisation
      • 3D Animation for Designers
      • Motion Graphics and Editing for Television
    6. Module 6: Design Management
      • Branding
      • Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC)
      • Business Proposal
    7. Module 7: Design Major
      • This module will require students to produce an integrated marketing campaign, incorporating what they have learnt in prior modules
    8. Module 8: Professional Studio Practice
      • In the final module of the programme, students will take on an internship and will be mentored by highly experienced industry experts.

    How will I be assessed?

    Assessment and examination are mainly project and assignment based, students are required to do a formal presentation at the end of each unit as a form of assessment in FMDS. Several preliminary presentations may occur as peer-to-peer assessment sessions, where projects are mounted for constructive comments and critique.
