    Program Synopsis

    Introduction to Tourism & Hospitality Management

    This module provides students with an overview of the Tourism & Hospitality Industry by examining the different sectors within the industry; and the relationship between Tourism and Hospitality from the management perspective and future challenges.

    Leisure Management

    As Leisure Management is very broad base, the focus of this module is to provide students with a sound grounding on the topic of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE); and prepared them to meet the ever changing needs of this segment of the Hospitality Industry. This is a very resilient segment of the industry as people still find a need for face-to-face meetings.
    Upon completion of the module, students would have achieved a clear understanding of the Meetings, Expositions, Events, and Conventions business.

    Operations for Tourism & Hospitality Management

    Taking a macro approach, this module covers the operating systems currently used by the industry. It looks at the type of operations across a wide range of the different sectors of the Industry focusing on problem solving and operation skills.

    Marketing for Tourism & Hospitality Management

    The module provides students with an understanding of Marketing from a Tourism & Hospitality perspective. It structured marketing activities into BEFORE, DURING & AFTER the customers' experience of the service encounter. Upon completion of the module, students would have covered the key areas of Marketing Concepts, Pre-encounter Marketing, Encounter Marketing, Post-encounter Marketing and the Marketing Plan.

    Hospitality Management Strategies

    The objective(s) of this module is to provide students with an up-to-date, thorough and rigorous treatment of Strategic Management in a Hospitality context.
    Upon completion of the module, students would have learn how to analyses, form, select and implement the appropriate functional strategies to the organization and environment to achieve long term goals and mission.

    E-Commerce

    To introduce to students in a broad way what E-commerce is and how hospitality industry is involved in E-commerce. It will enable an understanding on the entire E-commerce in the market including E-business. Students able to grasp the E-environment, both its fundamentals, business infrastructure, as well as E-procurement and E-marketing.

    Project Management

    This module introduces the concept and principles of project management to the students with a view that the skill learned in class be put to practice when they move into the industry. Students should be able to align their functional goals with that of the organization and streamlined them to achieve the organizational goals, visions and mission.

    Researching & Writing Dissertation & Project in Hospitality

    The objective(s) of this module is to teach students the methods of writing research and dissertation paper, as students at some point of their studies have to complete a project, extended report, dissertation or thesis.
    At the end of the module students would have the necessary essential skills to write an Essay, a Report, and make a Presentation

    Assessments and Award
    * Every module is assessed by a final written examination, class assignments and participations.
    Students must achieve a 90% class attendance to quality for the examination.

    * For practical modules, students are assessed on their performance in project works, dissertations
    and presentations.

    * Upon passing exam for minimum 8 Modules, Addison Institute will award Advanced Diploma in Tourism & Hospitality Management.
