Aim & Objectives
The Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management program is designed for those who aspire to assume greater responsibilities in many sectors of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry. It focused on topics like Human Resources, Marketing, Strategic and Service Management, and a final Term Project Paper.
Course Developer : Addison InstituteEntry Requirements :
* Either, GCE 'O' Level or 'A' Level with a pass in English or equivalent, or
* Diploma in Tourism / Hospitality/ Hotel / Catering Management, or
* Those with working experience will be considered on a case to case basis, &
* Applicants without English proficiency must pass Addison Institute's English proficiency placement Test prior to admission.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Exemptions may be granted to students who show proof of prior learning on certain module(s). This is subject to verification and approval by the academic Board.

Hotel Operations Management
The Objective(s) of this module is to take students on a by departmental study of a full-service hotel. focusing on tow key question:
* what do you need to know about each department?
* why do you need to know?
Upon completion of the module. Students would have a clear overview of the key areas of Hotel Operations Management.
Meetings, Expositions, Events, & Conventions (MEEC)
The Objective(s) of this module is to provide students with a sound grounding on the topic and prepared them to meet the ever changing needs of this segment of the Tourism / Hospitality as people still find a need for face to face meetings. Upon completion of the module, students would have achieved a clear understanding of Meetings, Expositions, Events and conventions business.
Service Management
This module is to addresses issues inthe Hospitality Industry from a Service Management perspective, offering the students a series of Management Concepts, all of which are capable of being effectively incorporated into any Hospitality Operations.
Hospitality Marketing
The module provides students with an understanding of Marketing from a Hospitality perspective. It structured marketing activities into BEFORE, DURING & AFTER the customers' experience of the service encounter. Upon completion of the module, students would have covered the key areas of Marketing Concepts, Pre-encounter Marketing, Encounter Marketing, Post-encounter Marketing and the Marketing Plan.
Management Strategies for Hospitality Industry
The objective(s) of this module is to provide students with an up-to-date, thorough and rigorous treatment of Strategic Management in a Hospitality context. Upon completion of the module, students would have learn how to analyses, form, select and implement the appropriate functional strategies to the organization and environment to achieve long term goals and mission.
Human Resource Management
This Module is to provide students with a strong foundation in Human Resources/ Personnel Management Concepts and technique to better supervise and manage work when they join the work market.
Researching & Writing Dissertations for Term Project Paper
The objective(s) of this module is to teach students the methods of writing research and dissertation paper, as students at some point of their studies have to complete a project, extended report, dissertation or thesis. At the end of the module students would have the necessary essential skills to write an Essay, a Report, and make a Presentation
Finance for Non-Financial Managers
The objective(s) of this module is to provide the students with a solid foundation of Finance from Non-Financial Managers' perspective. The knowledge learned will enhance their future careers' development. There is no attempt to cover the detailed concepts and mechanics of financial accounting or details procedures of book keeping here.
E-Commerce
The objectives(s) of this module is to provide students with a solid grounding on Electronic Commerce as IT has changed the way, we communicate and is having an impact on a significant portion of the world, even in our leisure activities. Upon completion of the module, student will have a clear understanding on the entire E-commerce, Market including E-Business.
Project Management
This module introduces the concept and principles of project management to the students with a view that the skill learned in class be put to practice when they move into the industry. Students should be able to align their functional goals with that of the organization and streamlined them to achieve the organizational goals, visions and mission.
Assessments and Award
Students who completed all modules and passed the minimum requirement of Seven Module and Term Project paper will be awarded Addison Institute Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management
Students who were granted exemptions for modules under Recongnition of Prior Learning(RPL) will have to complete a new term project in order to graduate.
