Course details
This Advanced FETAC Level 6 Certificate course is designed to develop the learner's understanding of the core concepts of Security Business Management and enables the learner to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to work independently at supervisory level in the highly specialised and dynamic security industry. It also prepares learners for a career at Management level in this buoyant industry. This course has been designed to meet the needs of the security industry in line with the terms of the Private Security Services Act 2004. Graduates will be well equipped with the necessary skills to open their own security business. Successful completion will also assist those intending to apply to the Garda Reserve, An Garda Síochána or the Defence Forces.
Entry Requirements
- QQI (FETAC ) Level 5 Award in Security Studies (5M2110) or Security Systems Technology (5M2109) or equivalent
- Applications are welcome from learners with relevant experience in this area

Additional Information
Learners have the option of completing the QQI (FETAC) Level 4 Door Security Procedures Minor Award as part of this course to acquire their DSP (Door Supervisor (Licensed Premises) licence) from the Private Security Authority (PSA)
Employers actively seek our learners for employment in the Security Industry. Learners may progress to Higher Education through the Higher Education Links Scheme (HELS)
Successful graduates of this course may apply to the Security Institute of Ireland to become a member
