    Learners on the Level 5 course will be introduced to the fundamentals of making and repairing a range of stringed and fretted musical instruments, both acoustic and electric. They will learn specialist hand and machine craft skills in order to develop their creative abilities in this area. Learners who have an interest in music will find that they can enhance their skills by learning the rudiments of how instruments are made, stringed and generate sound. Learners who successfully complete the first year may progress into the second year of this course, where they learn to advance their skills in musical instrument making and design, or may apply to a range of Higher Education Institutions through the Higher Education Links Scheme (HELS).Higher Education Institutions through the Higher Education Links Scheme (HELS).
