Course details
These very practical courses have been designed to develop the creative woodcraft skills of entrepreneurs who want to design, manufacture and produce their own creative designs such as: jewellery boxes, chess boards, pens, bird tables, clocks, wooden boxes and dog kennels. It is aimed at learners who have a flair for arts and crafts, but also want to gain the knowledge, skills and competencies to start their own business and sell the products they produce. Learners will gain the hand craft and machine skills to produce small wooden items to their own original design. Learners who successfully complete the first year may progress into the second year of this course, where they will learn to develop their skills to a higher level or may apply to a range of Higher Education Institutions through the Higher Education Links Scheme (HELS).
