    Course details

ADULT SCENE STUDY is a adult acting PERFORMANCE course covering some of the basics of voice and body work, improvisation, understanding text and performance. In class we will approach the acting work playfully and gently while maintaining a challenging level which is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience who are interested in exercising and refining their technique. The course will finish with a presentation night for an invited audience in which the students perform in an improvised scene as well as a 5-10 minute memorized and rehearsed scene from a play. Due to the nature of the group work, this course is best suited to the student who is willing to attend all of the classes and who can be reliable to their fellow performers. It will require memorizing lines and a good bit of time outside of class hours for preparation. YOU MUST BE COMMITTED TO ATTEND ALL OF THE CLASSES AND PREPARE AND ATTEND THE FINAL PERFORMANCE NIGHT OF THE COURSE FOR THE PRESENTATIONS AND MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR TECHNICAL REHEARSAL THAT AFTERNOON. Often students return to this course again and again to create new characters and sharpen their performance skills.

Class size is limited to 12 students maximum in order to assure the highest level of attention for all participants.
