Course details
Jump head first into the exciting world of Shakespearean text with this two part workshop series. Whether you have had experience with Shakespeare, but would like a boost to achieve the next level of performance, or whether you’ve only recently decided to delve into the world of Shakespeare, this workshop is for you. We will be touching all areas an actor needs to fully embody the text, and delve into performing the work of one of our greatest playwrights. Our work will be active, physical, practical, and engaging. Our work will include: looking at clues and directions in the text itself, breath and voice work, character story arc, emotional connection, historical context, physicality, and finding freedom, fun, and life within the text. By the end, you will have a greater understanding of the work needed to prepare for any Shakespearean role, as well as a solid Shakespeare audition piece. (A class size of 12 maximum is set for this subject.)
