Course details

There is a growing demand in the marketplace for personnel who possess practical accounting skills combined with relevant computer experience especially in computerised accounting systems. This Course aims to provide these essential practical accounting and computer skills to meet this growing need. Emphasis will be placed on the practical capabilities necessary for any accounting department in a modern business. The course is suited to students with numerical ability and an interest in accounting and computers. Students supplement their studies with work experience in a relevant area.

Career Opportunities:

Successful students may gain employment in any of the following areas - computerised accounts, administration, accounts clerk, accounts assistant, payroll officer or credit controller.

Career Opportunities:

This Course also allows students to progress to further study in Crumlin College for Accounting Technician (Second Year) with the Accounting Technicians Ireland(ATI).

Students are also eligible to apply for professional examinations with the Institute of Incorporated Public Accountants (IIPA) and for the Foundation Certificate 2 Level with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPA).

Minimum Entry Requirements:

5 Passes in the Leaving Certificate to include English, Accounting/Maths or a Distinction in the Leaving Cert Applied. Foundation Level Maths is not accepted as part of the minimum entry requirement for this course. Mature students may apply on the basis of experience. All entry is subject to interview.
