Course details

The purpose of the Accounting and Payroll Administrator Certificate program is to provide students with the skills necessary to understand and apply the principles of payroll administrator in a computerized office environment. This allows the student to pursue employment in many businesses growing in the global economy.

Brighton College has partnered with CPA (The Canadian Payroll Association), to deliver the PCP certification (Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification) courses from the Canadian Payroll Association. The structure of the certification consists of three courses. Once the students pass these three exams and Introduction of Accounting course, with the credit transfer fee paid to the CPA, the student becomes eligible for CPA/PCP certification. The student must pay the membership fee when the student applies the certification. Effective January 1, 2015, individuals who wish to obtain the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification must have at least one (1) year of weighted payroll experience obtained within five (5) years before or five (5) years after the start of the Payroll Compliance Legislation course.
