This is a one day Accident Investigation Training Course is designed to provide learners with some of the skills & knowledge to investigate & report on accidents & dangerous occurrences in the workplace.
Who Should Attend?
This course is for staff that have responsibility for reporting of accidents or accident investigations in their own workplace.
Course Objectives:
On completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Be aware of the current health & safety legislation surrounding accident investigation.
- Evaluate & investigate accidents.
- Go through & complete Accident Report Forms (i.e. IR 1 & IR 3 Forms).
- Make recommendations to prevent recurrence of similar accidents.
Course Programme:
- Health & Safety Legislation as it applies to accidents.
- Overview of accident iceberg, accident causation & accident proneness theories.
- Resources needed to effectively investigate accidents.
- HSA Forms for reporting of accidents - IR 1 & IR 3.
Training Methods:
- Classroom based power-point presentation with some practical experience of investigating accidents.
Additional Information:
- Maximum of 12 learners.
- Certificate of Attendance will be issued to all learners who successfully complete & pass this course.
