Entry requirements:

You must be 18 years of age or over and hold the minimum entry requirements of the Irish Leaving Certificate (in at least 5 separate subjects with at least 3 of the 5 subjects at Higher Level [Ard] [Grade C or higher], at least 2 of the remaining subjects at Grade D3 or above, either Higher Level [Ard] or Ordinary Level [Gnáth Grade D or above] including English and Mathematics). Students are reminded they should register with the ACCA before they enrol with our College. Or;

Information

Computer Based Examinations (CBE) are now available for ACCA F1, F2 & F3 and ACCA CAT Papers 1, 2, 3 & 4 as an alternative to the paper-based examinations. Limerick City College is an accredited CBEs centre that offers CBEs at various times during the year. The benefits of Computer Based Examinations include:

  • Limerick City College will offer CBEs continuously throughout the semester
  • Your result is given immediately on completion of the examination
  • A failed paper can be retaken immediately if required The CBE consists of 50 questions per examination to be completed within 2 hours. The nature of the questions will be predominantly multiple choice or single number entry.

Work Experience:

To become a Chartered Certified Accountant, you must satisfy the ACCA’s practical training requirements. In addition to passing the professional examinations, you will need to:

  • Gain a minimum of three years’ supervised, relevant practical experience
  • Satisfy the minimum competence requirements for membership
  • Record your experience in your personal Student Training Record (STR)

Assessment:

Participants will sit ACCA examinations in both June and December of each year of study. In order to qualify as a member of the ACCA the following must be completed:

  • 14 examinations (9 of which are eligible for exemptions)
  • A minimum of three years relevant practical experience
  • A professional ethics module

Award:

On successful completion of the ACCA Qualification examinations, graduates will receive an invitation to become a Certified Chartered Accountant. In order to obtain the qualification and use the designated letters ACCA after their name, graduates must also satisfy the appropriate practical financial work experience requirement. Limerick City College recruitment service will assist students in fulfilling the practical work experience component of the ACCA Qualification Scheme.
