Course details
This introductory class is intended for those with no previous experience. It provides a great opportunity to explore, experiment and develop the basic jewelry-making skills essential for building a lasting foundation for this craft.
What this Workshop does:
Participants will have an opportunity to develop a wide range of fundamental jewelry-making skills that are essential for building a solid foundation and will be introduced to a wide variety of tools and techniques which include: proper use of hand tools, flexshafts, hammers, polishing equipment, jeweler's saw, files, pliers, doming blocks and more. You will learn how to cut, saw, pierce, dome, texture, drill etc. to create 1-3 pieces in this 5 days course.
Once the basic techniques are covers, students will work through projects throughout the day to develop their skills and leave with finished pieces of jewelry. In this workshop they will have the chance to make a ring, pendant and pair of earrings using copper wire and sheets. Whether you are making them for yourself, a friend or to sell through a business, all the techniques covered will give you an excellent grounding for making professional jewelry.
Who the course is for:
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners. Also ideal for those who have some jewelry experience but wish to add to their repertoire. It covers the basic principles and techniques of jewelry designing and making.
