Course details
This course will give you a fast crash course in animation for games and get you creating your first walk cycle within one hour in Spriter. Unique dynamic drawing exercises are included to help improve your concept of character posing. We start with the animation principles then go through the complete process of sketching a simple figure in Photoshop, to rigging and animating in Spriter.
Part 1: Nick Sweetman
This first part of the course focuses on pure animation and enables you to see the whole process from start to finish. It's ideal for those who want a short introduction to Spriter so you can apply the knowledge straight away to your own creative game projects. Walk templates are included with the course along with the finished Spriter file. The majority of this part can be completed with a free version of Spriter and trial of Photoshop. Flash is used to explain the core principles of animation in the first exercise.
Part 2: John Nightingale
Experienced Senior Animator with multiple AAA console and PC projects, John has worked on projects great and small, from Aliens Vs Predator to Harry Potter and Pixar's Rush. During this section John breaks down his fast 2d animation workflow for creating professional quality game animations that include Jump, run, idle and shoot.
