The Diploma of Sport & Recreation Management - Fitness Program is for students who want to gain management skills whilst further enhancing their expertise in the fitness industry.
Course Modules:
- Marketing the sports and recreation organization
- business planning and operations
- Legislation and compliance
- Human resource management
- Accounting and financial management
- Advanced personal training techniques*
- Health Promotion*
- Injury Prevention Management*
* These modules require a current Certificate IV in Fitness as a pre-requisite.
The Fitness Specialist modules are conducted as hands-on practical classes which are typically held in a fitness center or gym environment as the classroom.
Job Outcomes:
The program outcomes for this course are:
- Workers qualified at in the Fitness Stream are primarily employed as personal trainers in a fitness or leisure facility or in their own business. Possible job titles include; Advanced Personal Trainer, Fitness Services Coordinator, Personal Training Manager.
- This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diversity of fitness industry businesses including fitness centres, gyms, aquatic facilities, community facilities and in open spaces, where risk management (through risk assessment and hazard control processes) does not already exist.
