This course covers the competencies needed to plan, track and manage media relations. It will cover the process of planning, tracking and managing media relations programs to meet the needs of different media and complying with legal and regulatory requirements of the industry.
LEARNING OUTCOME
- Build professional relationships with both local and foreign journalists
- Work with different types of media including print, broadcast, news agencies and the digital media, to communicate key messages accurately and effectively
- Communicate effectively with different media through a range of tools including media pitching, press releases, press conference and media briefings, media interviews and handling of media enquiries
- Track and analyse media reports accurately and professionally
- Plan, track and manage a comprehensive media programme
- To support the Crisis Management Team in the event of a crisis
