This training provides a deep understanding of the source of leather, their unique characteristics and its product performance and quality.  They will learn how to identify leather and use the appropriate professional terms. Most importantly, it covers the different types of leathers and how they are used in the footwear industry. Participants will be equipped with sufficient attitude, skills and knowledge to help customers make their purchase decisions and recommend them on how to care for their leather products.

OBJECTIVES

• Identify types of leather in accordance to industrial norms
• Determine quality of leather
• Perform maintenance of leather product
• Recommend leather product and advise suitable care

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Preferably possess 3 GCE ‘N’ level qualification with passes in English and Math or ESS WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 4 and above.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Participant will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) provided he/she meets the following requirements:

• 75% attendance rate
• Assessed to be competent in given competency standard

CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE

Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
