·            Students will gain the ability to act in a defensive posture to protect people, the environment, and property from the effects of an unplanned hazardous materials release and or Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). With the additional mission-specific competencies, the learners will also gain the ability to conduct air sampling and testing, set-up decontamination corridors, conduct mass and technical decontamination operations, and gain the ability to properly utilize all types of personal protective equipment at the scene of a Hazardous material spill incident. Students will gain these knowledge and skills by being instructed:
-     Chemical Properties and Hazardous Materials Behavior
-     Basic Incident Management
-     Strategic Goals and Tactical Objectives
-     Terrorist Attacks, Criminal Activities, and Disasters
-     Product Control
-     Victim Rescue and Recovery
-     Evidence Preservation and Sampling
-     Illicit Laboratories
-     Personal Protective Equipment
-     Mass Decontamination
-     Technical decontamination; and
-     Air Monitoring and Sampling
