This course has been awarded 14 CME credit hours by the Department of Health (Abu Dhabi)This two-day course provides the advanced knowledge and skills required to care of an extreme low birth weight infant. The course comprises a mix of theory and practice that can be applied in an NICU setting.

- Thermoregulation
- ELBW skin care
- Developmental care
- Common complications in ELBW infants
- Intra-Ventricular Hemorrhage (IVH)
- Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP)
- ELBW infection risks
- Understand insensible water loss in extreme premature babies
- Practice correct positioning techniques
- Identify and apply evidence-based best practice in premature skin care
- Understand the importance of electrolyte and fluid balance
- Identify the risk factors associated with enteral and parenteral feeding for premature infants
