This qualification provides learners with the skills and knowledge needed to manage practice and lead others in health and social care and children and young people's services. It has two pathways for those working with children and young people, and covers a wide range of topics including:

• Safeguarding and protection
• Quality systems and improvement
• Managing care services, change programmes and recruitment
• Developing and carrying out policy
• Supporting development and partnership working
• Promoting and developing best practice
• Care management.

The Management pathway is most suitable for Assistant Managers and Deputy Managers who are looking to progress their career. It is also appropriate for Managers who have not yet achieved a vocational qualification at this level.
