Brief Description:
This is a comprehensive and advanced speaking course suitable for students who would like to work on their pronunciation and speaking skills. There are a variety of different conversational topics that are designed to help prepare students for different situations they may encounter in daily life where they will interact with English speaking people, whether it is in school, at work, or even at a doctor's office. These conversations are presented in the hope that they will aid students in their quest to gain proficiency in spoken English.
Course Description/Length/Prerequisites
This course introduces new vocabulary in each cycle and presents an opportunity for interacting in English. Many fluency exercises provide role-play activities to practice the new material and increase the opportunity for vibrant fluent conversation.
This 30-hour course is delivered on-site in an instructor-led, classroom setting. Prerequisites include:
 Pre-Intermediate English skill, verbal and written
 Participating in small group and large group discussions on daily, professional and academic topics.
 Participating in communication and pronunciation practice in class

Learning Objectives/Outcomes
The goal of the ESL program is to help students develop language skills necessary to be successful students and members of society.
The activities in this course are designed to help the students learn more about the following speaking skills:
 pronunciation skills including:
 knowledge of the individual sounds in the English sound system
 recognizing and using correct stress on syllables
 recognizing and correctly using changes in sounds and stress in various forms of vocabulary
 using the right speaking style for different social situations
 expressing opinions, asking for clarification, respectfully disagreeing
Participant is eligible for:
 Notebook and pen
 As well as any other additional material.
