Course Headline

This programme will enhance your understanding of the issues involved in conducting business in a global landscape whilst allowing you to fulfill your existing work commitments. This is an intellectually rich programme designed to extend and provide the knowledge and skills you need to reach the highest levels of your career, whether you are managing in a commercial or public sector context.

Executive Diploma in Business Management consist of Three mandatory modules and each carries 10 Credits (Master Level). The modules of the course as follows:

Module 1 : Strategic Management 

The objectives of this module is to enhance the skills of the students’ in related to strategic decision making which are usually derived by the top executives of the companies in order to ensure it is parallel with the expectations of stakeholders of the companies.The module covers the study and practical fundamentals of Strategic Management which helps the students to play a vital role in today’s organisations, as Strategic Management plays a critical role in development and expansion of organisations inline to the vision and mission of the organisation.

It is imperative for a Strategic Manager to understand the fundamentals of Strategic management, as well as understand the strategies adopted world-wide, including how these benefit an organisation. The unit's content helps the students in understanding how to effectively strategize as well as efficiently manage resources in an organisation. After Successful completion of this module, the student should able to:

  • Identify and analyse the organisation’s current mission, vision, objectives and the strategies implemented and followed.
  • Identify the types of organisational strategies which suits best to the organisation;
  • Conduct the external and internal analysis of the organisation;
  • Formulate the strategies and implementing those which suits best to the organisation.
  • Evaluate the implemented strategies to identify whether they are in line with the organisational objectives;
  • Coordinate and  integrate the activities of  various functions of the management.
  • Implement best strategies to avoid competition by summarizing the activities involved in evaluating the management objectives and its performance;
  • Achieve high levels of strategic alignment and consistency in relating to external and internal environment;
  • Explore and identify ways to utilize the suitable strategies as an instrument in the effective management process;

Module 2 - Organizational Resource Management

The objectives of this module is to enhance the skills of the students’ in related to identifying and maintaining proper human resources in the organisation and to effectively use the marketing and operation strategies to keep the activities in line with organisational objectives.The module covers the study and practical fundamentals of Organisational Resource Management includes major functions of Human Resource, Marketing and Operations, which helps to attain organisational goals.  The learner will understand the basic functions and fundamentals of the given resources and to effectively use them to attain organisational objectives.  

The unit's content helps the students in understanding how to effectively plan, implement and monitor the human resource, marketing and operational strategies in organisation. After Successful completion of this module, the student should able to Identify and analyse the current organisation’s human resources, marketing strategies and operational strategies.

  • Identify the types of  marketing strategies which suits best to the organisation
  • Develop strategic human resource plan for the organisation
  • Conduct the external and internal climate analysis;
  • Formulate the marketing and operational strategies and implementing those which suits best to the organisation;
  • Evaluate the implemented strategies to identify whether they are in line with the organisational objectives;
  • Identify the internal and external affects of operations performance objectives;
  • Relate the role of the operations function to the contribution which operations makes to the competitiveness of the business;
  • Coordinate and  integrate the activities of  various functions of the management;
  • Implement best strategies to avoid competition by summarizing the activities involved in evaluating the management objectives and its performance;
  • Explore and identify ways to utilize the suitable strategies as an instrument in the effective management process; 

Module 3 - Global Business Operations

The purpose of this module is to familiarize the participants with the various aspects of Global Business Operations a view that conducting business is exciting, challenging and globally oriented.

This module will provide the students with an integrated and practical approach to understand the concepts of Global Business Operations and also to provoke critical thinking about various principles, guidelines and practices of Global Business Operations. The student should able to:

  • Identify and analyse an organisation’s global operations and the strategies implemented and followed.
  • Identify the types of organisational strategies at a global level  which suits best to the organisation;
  • Conduct the external and internal analysis for entry mode in different countries;
  • Formulate the strategies and implementing those which suits best to the organisation at a global scale;
  • Understand the various trade theories that form the basis of business that happens globally;
  • Coordinate and  integrate the activities of  various analysis pertaining to PESTLE;
  • Implement best strategies to take on the competition globally;
  • Understand the different global standards with regards to Performance, Purchase, Supply, economic system, manufacturing system, quality system;
