Course Overview

Programme Goal

The Diploma of Media Technology provides students with the skills needed to work as an independent print and multimedia specialist. They will gain an understanding of print and multimedia production and learn how to work with or within related businesses. Emphasis is given to a wide variety of advanced general IT skills. The Media Technology program prepares students for work in a range of media agencies as well as in media or advertisement related
departments of general industrial and commercial companies. With a focus on simulating business settings, problems and problem solving, and studies of printing, web applications, photography and videography, students learn to be highly e!ective and productive employees. Successful media technicians, working in both digital and print, must master the art of converting client ideas into creative output.

Graduates

All students will complete an internship in a local company providing a variety of the services that are studied in the program. In addition, the ADVETI Diploma in IT provides large scale projects enabling work with students from other diploma majors in simulated business environments for all key areas of study to provide students with practical experience.

Work Placement
All IT Media students complete a work placement assignment in a business environment, during which they are expected to apply, and extend, the skills they have learned and knowledge necessary to transfer their education into their careers. Guest speakers, external visits, and small projects for local charitable organizations may also be arranged to further increase student’s practical and business knowledge.

Employment
Graduates will be eligible to work in media agencies, company administrations, governmental or commercial marketing departments, advertising agencies, publishers or as freelancers.Media products are a daily necessity for every corporation no matter whether they are private or public, big or small. For this reason, specialists in this are increasingly in demand.
