The aim of this Programme is to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and competence required to work under supervision as a security officer, performing practical security duties and procedures whilst also responding to security situations in a variety of settings. Learners will also achieve nationally recognised qualifications in the Security field, so as to pursue employment and or further education/ training. Applicants for this Momentum Programme must be unemployed for longer and be in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance/Benefit or on the Live Register or longer. Eligibility must be confirmed by Department of Social Protection Employment Services.

Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
• No formal educational qualifications are required. Good communications skills are essential. Some IT skills are desirable.
• Learners must be motivated to learn. Learners should be physically fit and be prepared for outdoor working environments. Garda Vetting is a pre request for entry onto the course and for the PSA licence.
• No previous industry or commercial experience is required.
