This course is designed for students of all ages looking to build a strong foundation in understanding Algebra. Whether you are taking an Algebra class in high school, reviewing Algebra for a career change, or preparing for an upcoming mathtest, this class will be a good resource for you.

UnderstandingAlgebra: Part 1 focuses on the basics of working with a variety of numbers, and then using numbers and variables to form Algebraic expressions. Considerable time is spent on learning how to solve equations, starting with simple one-step equations, building our way to multi-step equations with variables on both sides. In the final section, we apply all that we learned with variables, expressions and equations into learning how to use Algebra to solve a wide variety of word problems.

There are seventy-five lessons, each approximately 4-6 minutesin length, and each lesson focuses only onone specific concept or skill. This is proven to be the most helpful for students learning math. After each lesson, there are practice problems you can download and work out on your own, as well as an answer key that shows how to work out each practice problem.This helps give you structured practice and instant feedback so you can check your understanding.

Jonathan Klos has been teaching for over 15 years as a certified math teacher in Oregon, and has experience teaching all grade levels from middle school students, high school students, and college level students.
