The approving body is UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). The course meets the criteria of the MNTB Shipboard HV guidelines. The course will also meet the requirement of STCW (Manila amendments 2010).
The learner will meet the three outcomes of the course:-
- The learner can manage high voltage operations on board a ship.
- The learner understands the high voltage system and the maintenance of distribution capability.
- The learner can identify faults within a high voltage system and reconfigure the system to maintain supply.
This course target audience is the serving Marine Electrician, ETO, Marine Engineer surveyor, Marine superintendent, Marine Engineer officer who may be expected to supervise and/or implement on-board HV switching operation as an Authorised person; and a revalidation of Second and Chief Engineer officer COC as per the III/2 and III/3 (Management Level) ref MIN 423 (M) requirement.

ASSETS Training & Technical Services Pte Ltd (ATTS) is established in Singapore in 2004 to provide competence-based training in a hazardous environment for personnel. It is the first of its kind in this region with a fully Comp‘Ex’ audited training facility to create realistic scenarios to ensure that the students will be equipped with the competence and thus enabling them to add value from the investment you have placed in them.
The courses that ATTS offers are certified under Comp'Ex'. Comp'Ex' is the certificate of competence in Hazardous Areas. It is an international joint training initiative developed and initiated by the Engineering Equipment and Materials Users Association (EEMUA), the National Electrotechnical Training Organisation (NET) and JT Limited, supported by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
