This course aims to provide students with the skill and knowledge necessary for employment in the Sports and Leisure industry. It consists of practical and theoretical training in various aspects of Holistic Massage, which will assist the sports person, especially with pre and post sporting events.
CERTIFICATION
- QQI (FETAC) National Vocational Certificate Level 5 - Sport & Recreation (DSRXX)
- ITEC Holistic Massage Diploma
- QQI (FETAC) Occupational First Aid
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Leaving Certificate/ Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent.
- Successful completion of interview.
PROGRESSION
- The full QQI (FETAQ Level 5 Certificate facilitates entry, on a competitive basis, to a range of third-level institutions nationwide. Further details are available from the relevant institutions
- The full ITEC Holistic Massage Diploma facilitates entry on a competitive basis to a post-graduate Sports Therapy and Injury Prevention course which will include practical and theoretical training in sports massage, sports equipment and strapping & taping

WORK EXPERIENCE
Work experience placement in a related vocational area is an integral part of this course. Students must obtain one day per week work experience for the academic year. The day will be specified by the college.
