تفاصيل الدورة

This year for the first time we are excited to offer this Certificate online.  This will be the same programme, with the same course team, and the same award as our part-time Certificate. The delivery will be amended to suit the online mode with content delivery via online lectures and class interaction via live webinars and the Virtual Learning Environment Moodle.

Each week, for eight weeks the learner will be able to view an online recorded lecture at their convenience. This lecture will scaffold the week’s theories, readings, and activities.

The activities will be the main focus of your week and will be the space in which rich learning will occur. We hope that through these activities over the weeks, you will become part of a vital and active learning community, sharing your experience and learning with your peers in a safe, supportive, collaborative space.

there will be a webinar where learners will engage in a range of participative activities and avail of the opportunity to question each other and interrogate the content.

It is intended that the learners will become comfortable with the technologies being used both synchronous and asynchronous for learning and that they will become second nature to them.

By the end of week six the learners will be giving short presentations online and ultimately delivering online peer reviewed microteaching sessions.

There are three modules in the Certificate:

  • Assessment and Programme Design, which will be taught by Fiona O’Riordan (the Head of the Centre) and Angela Lincoln, introduces learners to the landscape of post compulsory education.  It seeks to enable the learner to discuss philosophies of higher education and training, their context and drivers, and interpret how they influence the design and assessment of programmes.  Additionally learners are exposed to principles and practice of constructively aligning assessment with learning outcomes.

10 Credits

  • Reflective Practice and Development, taught by Tricia Harris and Rob McKenna (the Programme Director for the CTE Online) helps learners determine how their own philosophies of education and training impact their pedagogy.  They also learn how to become reflective and evaluative practitioners by understanding the reflective and on-going process of their own learning and development as a trainer and/or educator. We also introduce mindfulness for reflective practice and digital reflection.

  • Pedagogical Practice, which will be taught by Alice Childs the chief Learning Technologist in Griffith Online,  offers learners opportunities to understand when and how to apply a wide range of teaching and training methods and techniques suitable to the needs of student groups.  Learners develop diagnostic and creative skills which allow them apply appropriate and relevant teaching and training supports and techniques.
