This course is open to all marketing professionals who are involved in planning websites or multimedia products.  It teaches the techniques of designing information architect, content classifying and planning to improve the online communications and effectiveness of the websites. The skills include identifying key messages for written content; developing a site structure given the required information; specifying visual and publishing guidelines.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

• Collect and analyze product or project information to identify messages and themes for the content
• Direct research and craft an executive summary to guide the development of a digital media product
• Seek permission to use material in which others hold intellectual property rights to be used as part of the content
• Brief experts in other storytelling tools so that they can produce material that will support, and enhance the messages in text-based content
• Determine usability issues and relevant accessibility standards and guidelines, especially relating to the inputting and display of text content across different platforms
• Direct the creation of a style guide to outline the design elements and desired look
