This course has been designed to encompass the main pillars of what security risk management is all about in the corporate environment. It addresses the need to drive the corporation’s security program from an enterprise risk perspective. Here, participants will be introduced to tools to facilitate the understanding of the threats and vulnerabilities of the corporation and from there implement the necessary security measures to mitigate the threats.

Participants will also be introduced to contingency planning and how to bring an organization from a state of crisis back to its business-as-usual status. Participants will also be made familiar with the attributes that make a good security policy and program and how best to communicate such policy and procedures by pitching the security message across effectively.

After completing the module on Security & Risk Management, you should be able to:

1. Describe the principles of security and the security function
2. Understand dimensions of security in relation to the role of the Police and Private security
3. Understand criminology, terrorism and security
4. Explain the risk assessment methodology and issues
5. Understand the concept of a security survey
6. Describe the fundamentals of crisis management
7. Developing contingency plans
8. Understanding security policies and procedures
