Ship supplier/chandler company personnel who are involved in the logistics of ship supply operations to vessels in PSA

OBJECTIVE

To enable ship supplier personnel to work safely in PSA’s terminals.

COVERAGE

• Identifying the various types of gears for different types of loads
• Correct methods of handling different types of loads
• Safety at the wharf: Learn about the risk factors associated with working at the wharf and the appropriate control measures to adopt
• Safety on the roads: PSA terminal layout, traffic rules and road safety tips
• Safe loading on vehicles
• Accident case studies
• PSA safety enforcement system
• Emergency/incident reporting procedures
• Hazard spotting and reporting
• Assessment

REQUIREMENTS

Participants must be sponsored by Company.

FUNDING

This course is approved for funding under the Skills Development Fund (SDF).

For NTUC members, this course is also approved for UTAP (Union Training Assistance Programme) funding.

End of Course

Upon passing the course assessment, participants would be awarded a job code in their PSA Pass without which they cannot perform the loading/unloading of stores to and from vessels at PSA wharves.
