The Design & Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCoI) offers two specialised courses based in Kilkenny, throughout these intensive programmes students work directly with established craftspeople in Ireland and abroad. The work placements undertaken in the give students an invaluable insight into the day-to-day running of a professional studio, while allowing them to hone their skills and expertise.

Jewellery and Goldsmithing Skills & Design Course

This course was stablished over 20 years ago in response to the demands of the sector for skilled training in jewellery design and making. The emphasis on design and craftsmanship enables graduates from this course to sucessfully progress within the industry in Ireland and aboard. Ceramics Skills & Design Course

This course promotes self-directed learning and development with open access to fully equipped workshops to industry standard. The combination of environment, facilities and expertise in training and the relevance of the course curriculum to the ceramics industry makes this course unique within ceramics training in Ireland.
