Course Overview:
This course is focused on advanced functionality of the .NET programming languages. This course is aimed at students who have experience with .NET programming, or have completed NET programming 1 at CCT.
Programme Aims and Objectives
This course exposes the learner to the advanced concepts of the Microsoft CLI Programming languages.
Once students have completed this module they will be able to:
- Assess and design a structured .NET application
- Develop object oriented programs
- Utilize advanced programming features offered by .NET
Programme Content
Topics covered in this module include:
- Object oriented programming with .NET
- Design patterns
- Error handling and native logging
- Outline of common utility functions available in .NET
- Implementing open source packages in your code
- Unit testing with .NET
- Creating distributable applications, allowing your software to easily be transported and installed on other computers
- Manipulating XML with .NET
- Interacting with databases using .NET
- Benchmarking your code and optimization strategies
- Developing a lightweight client for interacting with HTTP servers
