This course has been developed for multinational organisations in all sectors working in accordance with

international standards or directives but adapting to local needs. The certificate is an internationally

recognised qualification which provides an excellent underpinning knowledge of safety & health and a

sound basis for evaluating hazards and risks.

This qualification is awarded by NEBOSH, the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and

Health, UK’s leading health and safety professional body with over 25 years experience in providing up to

date and relevant examinations. Upon successful completion of the course, the graduate with 5 years of

experience within a health and safety position may apply for Technician membership (TechIOSH) with

IOSH — the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. Graduates may also apply for Associate

membership (AIIRSM) of IIRSM — International Institute of Risk and Safety Management.

Who should attend

The NEBOSH IGC is for personnel with international health & safety responsibilities e.g. managers,

supervisors, safety officers and those who need grounding and a recognized qualification in occupational

safety & health. It is also beneficial for those wanting to further their career in the HSE field or those who

wish to enhance their HSE Knowledge.

Entry requirements

Delegates should have a competent and sound standard of English to understand and articulate the course syllabus.

• Health and safety management systems 4 - Measuring, audit and review

Unit IGC 2 Control of International Workplace Hazards

• Workplace hazards and risk control
• Transport hazards and risk control
• Musculoskeletal hazards and risk control
• Work equipment hazards and risk control
• Electrical safety
• Fire safety
• Chemical and biological health hazards and risk control
• Physical and psychological health hazards and control

Unit IGC 3 International Health and Safety Practical Application

The completion of a health and safety assessment of a work place report to management

Assessment

Candidates are assessed by two 2-hour written examinations and one practical assessment. Upon

successful completion and passing, they will be awarded the NEBOSH International General Certificate in

Occupational Safety and Health.

Completion dateline for this qualification is up to 5 years from registration.
